2019 Powertrain Supplier of the Year

Quality, support, and ease of doing business all separated Cummins from the competition for the 2019 Powertrain Supplier of the Year award at Blue Bird Bus. “As a key partner in the school bus market, Cummins is honored to receive this award. It shows that small things like always making sure a technician is on site, and answering the phone when it rings can be what separates Cummins from others” – said Brad Cackowski, Blue Bird Account Manager, from Cummins.

Renewable Diesel vs. BioDiesel: There’s A Difference

B20 biodiesel has been readily availalble and approved for use in Cummins diesels for a number of years and offers some savings in terms of fuel costs. However the cost savings are reduced slightly by a marginal loss in combustion efficiency, which can result in incrementally higher fuel use. Renewable diesel (RWD) is not the same as biodiesel
and has 10% lower density than diesel fuel which causes a noticable reduction in fuel economy and a possible reduction in power output/performance. This article provides more information on biodiesel and RWD fuels.

Powering 4,000 buses in Hong Kong

Recent orders for ADL Enviro500 double-deckers meeting Euro VI emissions will take the L9 powered population in Hong Kong to a new high of 4,000 buses by early 2020. Cummins powers over 70 percent of the franchised buses operating in the territory, representing the largest fleet of triaxle double-deckers in the world. The L Series has earned its leading position by contributing to a fleet uptime availability of over 95 percent, despite the severe duty-cycle in Hong Kong resulting from high humidity, high passenger loadings and challenging gradients. Read this article to learn more about how Cummins is powering a city that’s Always On the move.
