Cummins Introduces “Stay Warm” Feature for Aftertreatment

Most school buses run a very different duty cycle than commercial diesel-powered trucks, with slower average speeds and a lot of stop-and-go operation. These slower speeds can prevent the passive regeneration process used to clean the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) in your aftertreatment system from taking place. Cummins has developed a solution that keeps DPF regenerations happening at slower speeds, preventing potential DPF clogging issues as well as the need for frequent active regenerations.
